About Us

How long have we been in business?

We started Granite Office in October of 2007. As luck would have it the whole country was on the verge of a major economic downturn; not exactly ideal circumstances for starting a new company. There was Garth Hood, Lee Mercer and Robin Taylor. We all came from another small office supply company and decided we should try and build a business of our own together. We went into this with our eyes wide open, but have quickly realized that you can only see what's in front of you. It's now been several years and we are still learning in this ever evolving world of business. We will never stop learning.

Where are we located and how do I order?

We are in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley. We have a small showroom to display office furniture and a warehouse for inventory. We are located right next to our key suppliers which allows us to provide quick turnaround on orders and offer a large selection. Most of our customers have never been to our office. They place their orders on our website and we use our office to take care of the rest. The office is where we process your order to ensure everything is done correctly: we check inventory and review your order to ensure it is what you are looking for and can be delivered to your business as quickly and efficiently as possible. When your online order is $100 or more we will bring you a delicious brownie or cookie by CookieTree Bakeries. These brownies and cookies are amazing. You will love them.

What is our delivery policy?

We provide free delivery. No fuel surcharges. No minimums. Orders placed will be delivered the next business day. Oh, and there will be the occasional emergency order that you need right away. Lucky for you we are located here in Salt Lake and can get you what you need today. That's right, we are local. The other big boys you might be thinking of aren't located in Utah.

Deliveries are done by us (what a concept!). We own our vehicles and we have our own employees that do the deliveries. Our drivers are clean, presentable and they do a great job. They will get to know your business, where you want paper delivered and will do desktop delivery wherever you need. Everybody loves to see our drivers; especially when they have brownies or cookies in your order.

How many items do we sell?

Oh my, I wouldn't be able to tell you except that it's a lot! Easily 40,000 and probably a lot more, but I stopped counting. Not a day goes by where we don't learn a new item that a customer has found on our website. And then we still get the occasional request for an item a customer can't find. Say, for example, you have a breakroom with a ping-pong table and you need ping-pong balls. Well, if you need it, we'll go ahead and set that item up for you. What it boils down to is if you are a good customer then we are gonna take care of you. We want to have you as a customer for a long time. Every order is our opportunity to earn your business.

What items do we sell?

We like to think of ourselves as the grocery store for business. If your business needs it then we want to supply it for you. We started out with office supplies and have expanded into quite a few other areas. We offer janitorial supplies, breakroom supplies, office furniture, promotional products, custom print, school supplies, technology, toner, safety supplies and more. If you search our website you will be surprised about the different items we have available.

We offer the leading brands in all of these categories as well. For filing we have Smead and Pendaflex. Toner we offer HP, Canon, Brother, Lexmark, Xerox, Sharp and Dell. Here's a quick rundown of all the name brands we have off the top of my head. Are you ready? Ok:

Then we have our more economical lines designed to save you money. We have Genuine Joe, Compucessory, Business Source, Universal, Sparco and Innovera.

For janitorial supplies we also are a Kimberly Clark Elite dealer. This means we have exclusive access to dispensers and better pricing for the janitorial supplies your business needs.

If you are into presentations we are the exclusive dealer of Unibind binding equipment in Utah. We also have an excellent selection of presentation and binding supplies and equipment. Whether you need combbind, wirebind, plastic coil, laminating pouches or covers, we have you, umm…covered.

We are a Lorell Furniture Diamond Dealer. Lorell is an entry level commercial grade furniture line that provides ANSI/BIFMA tested product at an excellent pricepoint. We also offer 9to5 Seating, Safco, HON, Mayline, Eurotech, Ergotron, ESI, Alera, Tennsco, Basyx and Martin. We have commercial office furniture at affordable pricing. We provide space design, assembly, delivery & installation for any size project. We can do contemporary design or traditional. For office chairs we have an excellent selection of leather, mesh or fabric chairs.

For promotional products we are a certified distributor. We can help you design and implement any number of items for your next promotion. Whether you are looking for custom imprinted pens, buttons, embroidered sweat bands or head bands, bags, water bottles, mugs, magnets, calendars or just about anything you can imagine we can help you design and obtain the perfect product in your budget.

What is our service policy?

Our service policy is to take care of our customers. Our delivery drivers know to take the product to where you need it. The order processors look for opportunities to help save you time and money on the supplies you order. Accounting maintains accurate up-to-date records on account balances and credit memos. Sales reps understand the vital role they play in maintaining your account and searching for opportunities to help your business keep moving forward smoothly. We want this to be a long term relationship and the only way that can happen is if we take the time to make our services fit your business.
